A series of events dedicated to contemporary silent moving image and experimental sound - FREE ENTRY TO ALL EVENTS - SHORTCUTS: EXHIBITION SHORTFILMS WORKSHOP SHARE ON FACEBOOK: Workshop 14.4.-17.4. Shortfilmscreening 15.4. Exhibition Live Event 16.4. Moving Silence returns to Athens for the 7th time to present new international silent film productions. The events from April 13 to 17 include silent projections of contemporary films that are accompanied with live soundtracks, a workshop to teach the art of time lapse film & animation and an multichannel film installation. For the 6th time the Goethe-Institut Athen is co-producing these events. This years collaborating venue is the Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center, which specializes in Greek and international contemporary art and has organized over 250 contemporary art exhibitions within its premises. PROGRAM "THE LOST" Exhibition from April 13 - 16 Live Performances on April 16th, 2016 from 18:00 - 21:30 at Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center 48 Armatolon-Klefton st., Athens (map) Entrance is free We will start this years activities on April 13 at 19:00, with the vernissage of the recent multi channel film installation The Lost by film maker Reynold Reynolds at the 300qm exhibition space of Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center. The exhibition will be open until April 16. The exhibition highlight will be the 20min live music performance by the dutch musicians duo Heleen Hulst and Gerard Bouwhuis starting every full hour on Saturday from 18:00 to 21:30 o'clock. Get more info about the exhibition Facebook event "THE ASTRAY AND THE DOOMED" Short Film Screening Friday April 15th, 2016 at 20:30 at Goethe-Institut Athen, Omirou 14-16 (map) Entrance is free This years short film program explores "The Astray and The Doomed" in a variety of 10 contemporary silent short films. Freely inspired by contemporary socio-political conditions and the subject of this years guest film maker Reynold Reynolds' installation piece "The Lost," this compilations brings tragic stories, wandering characters, situations without perspectives to the screen of the Goethe-Institute's marvelous auditorium. The screening will be accompanied by Athenian and international live musicians. For this years show we explicitly asked all artists to use analogue instruments only. See detailed program Facebook event "ATHENS TIME LAPSE" Workshop from April 14 - 17 Public screening on Sunday March 17, 2016 at 21:00 at Goethe-Institut Athen, Omirou Str. 14-16 (map) Participation is free Film maker Reynold Reynolds will come to Athens and give a workshop from April 14th - 16th, 2016. Following his artistic practice, Reynolds will show participants how to produce sequences that compress time. Participation is especially worthwhile for people with an interest in animation. The results will be publicly presented & accompanied by live soundtracks on April 17th at 9pm at Goethe-Institut Athen.
