So even if you don't like soccer, this is an offer you can't refuse. Kick-off is at 18:00 in the fan zone in front of the Reichstag. By the way, it's worth bringing a little more time, because the rest of the program curated by Festiwelt Berlin is also quite something - an animated film workshop for kids, short film programs and a party afterwards with live visuals and DJ Mark Reeder The event "The World is Round - Football | Films | Celebrations" is part of the Football Culture Summer Berlin 2024 and takes place in cooperation with Kulturprojekte Berlin.
Director Sobo Swobodnik spent a year observing everyday life in the neighborhood from his apartment. The result is a poetic Berlin film that finds beauty in the seemingly banal. Black and white images of changing billboards and seasons, of stores opening and closing, of hurried passers-by, cyclists and cars, police officers, road workers, tradesmen and parcel delivery drivers at work - in short: 12 months of Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. A "miniature symphony of the big city", as the taz newspaper put it. The Italo-Berlin artist and musician Marco Brosolo now provides the congenial music for the film. On this evening, a version of the film specially edited by the director and his editor Manuel Stettner will be premiered with the music composed by Marco Brosolo. Accompanied by stefanpaul, Brosolo will present his composition live. Poetic commentaries will be interwoven with recitations and songs by actor Godehard Giese. Moving Silence is a platform of international musicians, artists and filmmakers dedicated to the live scoring of contemporary silent films. Their motivation is to bring the poetry of the early beginnings of cinema back into the focus of the present and to explore the identity and possibilities of today's silent film. The Moving Silence events combine contemporary visual aesthetics with the live music of a new generation. |
